NILE  OPPORTUNITIES

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK

Nile opportunities looks at the historiography of the Nile in order to draw lessons from the past. it  focuses mainly on areas which offer great potential for cooperation and the common good of the countries of the basin.

The book is practically inspired by the recent positive developments surrounding the Nile such as the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) which is based on the shared vision and programs of the countries of the region. According to Prof. Kinfe Abraham, the NBI which represents a landmark in the political and diplomatic history of the region is, for instance discussed because of its real and symbolic significance as a paramount axis with many positive spin-off effects.
